Starting wage is $12.00 per hour with potential after 30 working days at the regular employee wage of $12.69 per hour on the Paraprofessional I salary schedule and $14.52 per hour on the Paraprofessional II salary schedule.

Job Description

The Ashtabula County Educational Service Center is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Substitute Paraprofessional to serve in all or applicant preferred Ashtabula County School Districts.

MISSION:  The purpose of the Ashtabula County Educational Service Center is to be a high performing organization that enables districts to achieve excellence.

The Ashtabula County Education Service Center serves the Ashtabula Area City, Buckeye Local, Conneaut Area City, Geneva Area City, Grand Valley Local, Jefferson Area Local, and Pymatuning Valley Local school districts.

Reports to:  Principal, Teacher, and/or Special Education Supervisor

Primary Purpose:  To assist classroom teacher in the performance of his/her responsibilities.

Scheduled:  As Needed.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:  Appropriate Ohio Educational Aid certificate; Such alternatives as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable; “Highly Qualified” by state standards; High school diploma and passing score on paraprofessional assessment OR two years of documented post-secondary credit; Successful BCII/FBI background checks.
