Immediate Supervisor: Water Distribution Asst. Supervisor, Wastewater Asst. Supervisor
Hours: Part-time and full-time hours from @ May 2023 to @ October 2023
Job Responsibilities: Under general supervision by staff of the Ashtabula County Environmental Services Department, Seasonal Laborer performs general maintenance, bending, lifting, and other manual labor duties. Perform tasks related to maintenance of property grounds, painting, clearing around hydrants, manholes and related water and wastewater appurtenances and equipment. Operating a variety of basic equipment, including weed eaters, shovels, picks, wrenches, and electric tools. Perform work in streets as well as along roadways and other traffic areas, as assigned. Running errands, driving vehicles as required. Other duties will included, but not limited to working at all facilities related to the Dept. of Environmental Services to include the office area. Other duties will include working around the County sewer system and acting as a safety person as needed. The ability to record and write reports is preferred.

Job Requirements
Qualifications: Applicant must be physically capable of accomplishing a wide variety of tasks without supervision. A high school education is required for this position or proof of General Educational Development (G.E.D.) diploma. Applicant must possess a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record as required by the Ashtabula County Policy and Procedure manual relative to vehicle usage. A valid Ohio Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred. The ability of Applicant to develop and maintain working relationships with associates, supervisors and the general public is crucial. Applicant must perform skilled manual labor and be able to operate various types of equipment. An individual who poses a direct threat to the health and safety of himself/herself or others in the workplace will be considered not qualified for this position. Applicant shall comply with the Ashtabula County Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
