Process Optimization Manager at Chromaflo Technologies in Ashtabula, OH
The Process Optimization Manager is responsible for process efficiency improvement, material flow, labor productivity, quality, space utilization and 55 Lean Improvements. The position is responsible for performing analysis, developing solutions, justifying investment, managing implementation projects, integrating systems with processes, and measuring results. The position reports to the Plant Manager, Ashtabula.
Major Areas of Responsibility: This position is responsible for all aspects operational and efficiency improvements. Responsible for the management of production activities in the safest means possible: including the scheduling of systems, meeting production goals, and achieving quality and cost objectives. Promote, provide resources for, and participate in activities that provide for an injury/illness-free work environment, as well as established, communicate, and maintain safety requirements;expectations for the department. This position facilitates engaged work teams.
Designing and improving production processes; optimizing the efficiency with the goal to meet customer demand; developing solution options using improvement methods; defining and financially justifying projects-documenting processes and practices; integrating systems and equipment; training and coaching of people; leading on-site resources to execute projects; tracking project status and results; anticipating and removing project barriers; implementing changes in a safe, cost effective manner; employee engagement through idea generation and implementation-this position facilitates engaged work teams; utilize improvement and analysis methods, such as strategic planning, operations research. Value Stream Mapping, LEAD Thinking, Six Sigma, facility and work cell / flow design, product slotting, IT systems integration, performance measurement, bench marking, and financial analysis.
BS in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience required. Five plus years’ experience in manufacturing management, preferable in a batch-oriented operation. Prior manufacturing experience i a coatings, paint or other dispersions related production environment preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing, operating systems, management, team training, financial control, regulatory issues, quality programs, engineering, and computer systems required. Six-sigma and/or lean manufacturing process experience and/or certification required.
