Summary: Dominion Energy Ohio is looking for a Natural Gas Gathering Pipeline Field Operator (Field Operator B) to join their team at the Cambridge Shop in Byesville, OH.
Nature and Scope of Position: Performs semi-skilled to skilled duties related to the gas operations function. Will be assigned individual functions or will work as part of a crew. Works under the direction of higher classifications and/or a supervisor. May direct lower classification personnel.
Summary of Job Duties: Follows Dominion Safety procedures and policies as well as all applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Inspect, install, remove and operate gas measurement and regulating assets. Learn to identify and troubleshoot problems associated with Gas Measurement and regulating assets. Operates and drives assigned vehicles. Will operate heavy equipment, mowing tractors, high pressure pump truck, forklift. Will perform inspections and maintenance such as checking fuel, oil, water, and hydraulic fluid levels, etc. on such equipment. Will perform leak survey, line locating, right-of-way mowing and pipeline corrosion monitoring as defined by needs of operating area. Utilize all applicable electronic mapping, compliance, and SCADA tools and/or Gas Control procedures required to perform job duties. Carries out instructions from drawings and blueprints, Gas Control, etc. Learns to perform all phases of pipeline maintenance, pigging operations, as defined by needs of operating area. Learns pipeline operation and system dynamics, gas flows and controlling pressures impacting the operating area. Learns to control pressure in conjunction with the tie-in, shutdown, purging and by-pass of gas piping systems, etc.
Repacks, repairs and rebuilds valves and valve operators. Perform and maintain the operation of applicable electronic equipment. Obtain gas samples as defined by operating area. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation necessary in the performance of the assigned job duties. Assists higher classifications in the performance of their duties and performs any other duties as assigned within the Field Operator “B” classification and lower classifications. Learns to and performs duties associated with Field Operator “A” position in preparation for promotion to the Field Operator “A” classification.

Minimum Requirements (Note, A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications): High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of directly related experience; Must possess a valid Class A Combination Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with HAZMAT endorsement. A copy of the CDL must be sent along with resume when applying for this position; Computer knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office programs; Ability to use I-phone and apps; Must be able to report to Cambridge Shop within one hour; Must be able to pass operator qualification tests given by the company within a reasonable timeframe from hire date.
