Molding Reports to: Area Supervisor

Job Purpose: Forms aluminum castings using permanent or semi-permanent molds with or without sand cores. Follows PPE and safety requirements. Aware of company quality and environmental policy.
Duties and Responsibilities: Operates molding table and catcher table by use of controls at molding; Directs the pouring of a computerized ladle to fill the mold with aluminum or hand pours aluminum if required; Blows out debris such as metal and sand from molds; Positions and sets cores properly into molds for pouring of aluminum; Responsible for identifying defects on the casting; Keeps mold area clean from sand and aluminum; Places castings on processing line; Puts screens in sprue; Positions and sets cores properly into molds; Apply Garlock to the molds; Aware of consequences to employee, customers and environment if procedures are not followed; All other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
Required: High School diploma or GED or prior experience/training in manufacturing environment; Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws, policies, and rules. Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined by company. Must be regularly available to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Must be available and willing to work such overtime as is necessary or desirable to meet business needs. Must be able to stand, bend and stoop. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, frequently 10 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
