Job Description

The Opportunity:  The Ashtabula County YMCA Board of Directors is looking for an innovative leader and solid operator with a collaborative spirit who can build strong relationships in the communities served by the Y.  Rising stars welcome!   We are looking for our next leader to have a dynamic presence in our community and make a difference right away and create a unified culture among staff with a common goal to serve the families in Ashtabula County.

Our YMCA is currently exploring the potential of a new facility.  With potential partners in the new facility, we would generate revenue from leasing space to partners and deepen our collaborations with the other agencies to serve our community more effectively.  It is truly an exciting time to lead our YMCA!

Candidate Profile and Key Skills:  Build and Lead the Staff; Improve Operating Performance Through Strong Fiscal Management; Lead Capital Development Strategy; Develop and Implement a Strategic Plan; Position the Y as a Vital Partner for Community Growth.

About the Ashtabula County YMCA:  The YMCA has been in the community since 1868 and the current facility opened in 1962.  The Y serves the entire Ashtabula County and has outreach programs in both childcare and adult exercise in four other communities.

Salary offer is commensurate with experience.  Retirement Plant contributions:  (10% YMCA paid).  Individual medical coverage provided at 80% paid by employer/20%  paid by employee.  Dental, vision, life insurance outlined in employee handbook.  Paid time off is outlined in the employee handbook.

It is preferable for the new CEO to reside in Ashtabula County, and if necessary, relocation assistance may be provided.

Job Requirements

Minimum Criteria for Candidates:  Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and personal values consistent with the YMCA mission; Minimum five years prior experience in a senior management role with a YMCA or related experience at a comparable organization with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff; A proven track record of budgetary oversight and fiscal management; Proven ability to develop and strengthen community relationships and experience working in strategic partnerships to expand services that address community needs; Fundraising and capital development experience, including annual campaign and grant management; Experience working with a Board and volunteer leadership structure.
